How to connect Coinbase Prime to Cryptio

Connecting your Coinbase Prime account to Cryptio lets you automatically sync balances and transaction history into your Cryptio workspace.

Step 1: Generate Your API Key in Coinbase Prime

  1. Sign in to your Coinbase Prime account.

  2. Select your profile photo (or the default circle with your first initial) to open the sidebar.

  3. Click the gear icon to access Settings.

  4. Open the APIs tab.

  5. Select Create API Key.

  6. In the pop-up window, configure your key:

    • API Name: Choose a descriptive label (e.g., Cryptio_ReadOnly_2025-09).

    • Access Type: Select View/Read-only. Do not enable trading or withdrawal permissions.

    • Expiration Date: Set according to your security policy.

  7. Select Continue. This action requires consensus approvals before processing.

  8. Verify your identity using Yubikey. After consensus approvals, your API key will appear under Pending Keys.

  9. Locate your new key under Pending Keys. Select Activate Key, then Activate API Key in the pop-up.

  10. Verify identity with Yubikey again to finalize activation.

Your API secret is shown only once. Record it securely. If you lose it, you must generate a new key.

Step 2: Import Your API Keys into Cryptio

  1. Log in to your Cryptio workspace.

  2. Go to the Imports tab from the left-hand menu.

  3. Click Import, then choose Coinbase Prime.

  4. Paste the following into the required fields:

    • Prime Access Key

    • Prime Passphrase

    • Prime Signing Key

  5. Choose an import date range (you can import your full history).

  6. Choose wallet type (and name if desired for vault/onchain wallets)

  7. Click Create to start the import.

Step 3: Verify Your Import

  1. In the Imports tab, locate your Coinbase Prime connection.

  2. Click the transaction count to open Transactions.

  3. Check that balances and a sample of transactions match what you see in Coinbase Prime.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing transactions: Confirm you selected the correct View permissions in Coinbase Prime.

  • Key not working: Ensure you copied all three values (Access Key, Passphrase, Signing Key) into Cryptio.

  • Approvals pending: Wait until the API key moves from Pending Keys to Active.

  • API secret lost: Generate a new API key in Coinbase Prime and re-import it into Cryptio.
