How to connect Bitcoin Multisig to Cryptio
You can connect a Bitcoin multisig wallet to Cryptio to automatically import balances and transaction history. Multisig (“multi-signature”) wallets require two or more private keys to approve a transaction. In Cryptio, you can set up the rules for access and import your transaction history.
Step 1: Gather Your Wallet Information
Before starting the import in Cryptio, make sure you have:
The number of required signers (e.g., 2-of-3).
All public keys associated with the wallet.
The relevant BIP32 path.
The wallet’s multisig address type:
P2SH
P2SH-P2WSH
P2WSH
Top Tip: Name your wallet descriptively (e.g., Bitcoin_Multisig_2of3_2024). This name will appear in metadata across reports, exports, and your main-ledger accounting software.
Step 2: Import Your Multisig Wallet into Cryptio
Log in to your Cryptio workspace.
Go to the Imports tab.
Click + Import in the left menu.
Search for Bitcoin Multisig.
Enter a wallet name.
Select the number of Required Signers.
Paste all Public Keys associated with the wallet.
Paste the appropriate BIP32 path.
Select the correct Multisig Address Type.
Choose a Date Range or import the full history.
Click Create to start the import.
Your Bitcoin multisig data will now sync into Cryptio.
Step 3: Verify Your Import
In the Imports tab, locate your Bitcoin Multisig wallet.
Click the transaction count to open the Transactions view.
Confirm balances and a sample of transactions match your records.
Troubleshooting
Missing transactions: Verify you entered all public keys and the correct BIP32 path.
Incorrect balances: Double-check that the right address type (P2SH, P2SH-P2WSH, P2WSH) was selected.
No data imported: Confirm the date range includes the period you expect.
