How to connect Circle to Cryptio
You can connect your Circle account to Cryptio using an API key. Once connected, your balances and transactions will sync automatically.
Step 1: Generate Your API Key in Circle
Log in to your Circle account.
Follow Circle’s guide on how to access, create, and manage your API keys.
When creating your key:
Permissions: Select read-only access. Do not enable trading or withdrawal permissions.
IP allowlist: Add Cryptio IPs if required (check with your administrator).
Validity: Set an expiration if Circle offers this option.
Top Tip: Add a descriptive name like
Cryptio_ReadOnly_YYYY-MMto help with key rotation later.
Copy and store your key securely.
Only Read access is required.
Step 2: Import Your Circle API Key Into Cryptio
Log in to your Cryptio workspace.
Go to the Imports tab.
Select Custody.
Click the Circle block.
Enter your API key.
Be sure to include the prefix
PROD_API_KEY:before your key.
Choose your Import date range (you can import your full transaction history).
Click Create to start the import.
Step 3: Verify Your Import
On the Imports page, locate the Circle row.
Click the transaction count. This opens the Transactions tab.
Confirm that balances and a sample of transactions match your Circle account.
Troubleshooting
Missing transactions: Check that your Circle API key has the required read-only permissions.
Key invalid or expired: Generate a new API key in Circle and update it in Cryptio.
Formatting error: Ensure your key is entered with the
PROD_API_KEY:prefix.Discrepancies in data: Double-check your API key settings in Circle and re-run the import.
